1940s Lunch - May 5 , 2007
On Saturday 5th May, Belstone Village Hall will be turning back the clock and inviting you all to share in a lunch made from some of the best authentic 1940s recipes (but not a whiff of dried egg – promise!) We are planning to share recipes and stories of how people survived the rationing and of the fun that was had when everyone had to ‘pull together’ and perhaps even have a sing-along. So, if you would like to walk down memory lane or just come along for the fun, join us at 12.30pm in the Village Hall. 1940s dress not compulsory, but would be fun – evacuees are especially welcome! Tickets – adults £3.10/- (£3.50 to you!) and £1 for children, are available from Eddy & Robin Hill 840332. Any artefacts, anecdotes, hints, tips, before the day will be welcome and can go towards our display.
