There’s a chance to experience life among the Sherpas of Nepal on Saturday 24 October at Belstone Village Hall. On show will be the short film The Sherpas’ Song, which has won awards this year at the British International Amateur Film Festival, the Southern Counties Film Festival and the Guernsey Lily International Film Festival. Also on the big screen will be the 50 minute film High Passes of Everest shot by Belstone resident Chris Walpole showing the struggle for survival above 5000 metres for a party of trekkers on a 21-day expedition to the High Himalayas.
The evening begins at 7.30pm and will include interval refreshments.
Admission is free, with donations invited for Hall funds and Edmund Hillary’s Himalayan Trust charity.
