Photographic competition 2010

All photographs to have been taken within the Parish of Belstone or the local environs, between January 1st and November 1st 2010. The photographs may be in any format - print, transparency or digital and may be sent to Edwina and Robin Hill, website editors, throughout the year, up to the closing date - 1st November.

Some of the pictures will be displayed on the village website during the year. Winning photographs will be enlarged to A4 and mounted, for display in the Village Hall for a year. After that time they may be reclaimed by the photographer.

The overall winning photo in each class will, in addition, be mounted on canvas for permanent display in the Village Hall.

Winners will be announced and their photos displayed at the Village Hall Christmas Coffee Morning in December. Winning photographs will also go on the website at that time.

The competition will be for residents (Belstone is your main home) and non-residents of Belstone and will be in three classes and two age groups - 18 and under on November 1st 2010 and over 18 on that date.

Class 1 ~ My Family and Other Animals
i. Resident 18 and under
ii. Resident over 18
iii. Non-resident 18 and under
iv. Non-resident over 18

Class 2 ~ Colour, Form and Texture

ii. Resident over 18
iii. Non-resident 18 and under
iv. Non-resident over 18

Class 3 ~ Under Belstone Skies

ii. Resident over 18
iii. Non-resident 18 and under
iv. Non-resident over 18

Please indicate with each photograph which class and category it is entered for, with your name, address or email, age if 18 or under, date taken and any further interesting information about the photograph e.g. animal or plant species, location of view, what the person or people are doing.

Photographs entered will become the property of the Village Hall; they may be displayed on the Belstone Village website and possibly used to create a village calendar and cards.

Only minor digital adjustments are allowed, including cropping. What you saw at the time of the shot must be maintained. The photographs, unfortunately, will not be able to be returned.

The judge's decision will be final and we reserve the right not to award a winner in any category if there are insufficient entries.

Photographs used on the website will not include the name of the photographer until displayed as a winning entry.
